Stuck in Anor Londo?

So I've made it to Anor Londo for the first time ever, got my face stomped by the Sentinels a couple times, killed the Bell Gargoyle, and I have no idea where to go next. From the Darkmoon Knightess' bonfire, there are three paths: right, which is the way I came, left, which leads to a blocked archway "sealed by the Lord's power" or words to that effect, and straight ahead leads me down an elevator to a long walkway which abruptly ends, way too far away from the rest of the city to jump. Am I missing something? Where do I go?

I had this same issure on my first playthrough; you need to go towards where the gargoyle was. On the left side of the stairs, there's a lower ledge you can drop down to, and from there you can climb up one of the supporting pillars.

Yeah that part is pretty ♥♥♥♥♥♥, it's not evident at all, go down the elevator and turn left before the gargoyle, there is a supporting pillar that you can climb, then you drop on the balcony and proceed. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ sexy miyazaki

Lol true. I believe these sort of parts were designed with online in mind where you can leave messages to help other players since some people are bound to find it while others are not.

That's a relief. Except now I'm stuck again: I've gotten up to the huge staircase with a massive door that I'm fairly certain leads to O&S, but it's apparently "locked by some contraption". Left leads to a door that "does not open from this side", and right to an overhang with three very annoying Bat Demons and no sign of a way forward. Geez, Anor Londo is a labyrinth...
