DLC enemies and their magic resistance
I'm a 50 int sorcerer, lvl 65. I want to go to the DLC right now. People said enemies in the DLC have high magic resistance, so it means I can go to hell with my spells and my moonlight greatsword. I need to upgrade some physical weapon, right? Do I need to make a +15 normal, or raw, or something else? People usually like Claymore, but I don't like its moveset. I tried all the weapons I have and I think I like all different Halberts, Scythe (the normal one, I don't have the Great Scythe) and any kind of Spear (but I guess the ones with lightining dmg are no good for DLC, right?). I also like other quick dex weapons, but I don't like that most of them have poor lengths, I don't like very short weapons. So, which one woul u recommend and which upgrade path? Simply to complete the DLC, get my dark sorceries there and then go to the Demon Ruins, Izalyth, Catacombs and Painted World.

Also, since I have only 16 str and 14 dex, does it mean I will still make more damage with any let say +14 weapon, than with my fully upgraded moonlight greatsword and 50 int scaling, to the DLC enemies? Are they really that much magic resistant?

If you're on NG, you're gonna cream every enemy you see. Equip plenty of Great Soul Arrows for the little guys.

I have never played as a sorcerer, but if you try it and you don't do any damage, upgrade a weapon to chaos/lightning +5

If I were on NG, I wouldn't ask questions like this, It's my first playthrough

all bosses (except sanctuary guardian) are weak to lightning damage.

Upgrade a weapon (surgest claymore or bastard sword as it is a greatsword like moonlight greatsword) up to +10 with andree (need large ember) then go to the giant blacksmith in anor londo to go upgrade into the lightning path (need chunks and a slab). upgrade up to +5.

there is a slab for killing stray demon.

Lightning weapons do lightning damage and their damage dosen't scale with your stats

I believe NG or NG+0 is first playthrough and NG+ or NG+1 means 2nd playthrough.

Anyway, I think your magic will do just fine but if you find you're not doing enough, I suggest the Gargoyle's Halberd since you like halberds. It has the same moveset as the Scythe(Bardiche), but will do more damage with your current stats. Upgrade it to +15 the normal path and buff it with Crystal Magic Weapon and you should do good damage. Alternatively, if you want to two-hand, use the Zweihander. It has the highest physical attack you could do with your stats.

Oalacile township. U need 18 Int Oocalie cat, bellowing dragoncrest ring crown of dusk and great heavy soul arrows. That will defeat the witches and everything there. Use ring of fog hidden body if needed and blast them to infinity. 1 shot with the great heavy soul arrow. Nothing more!!

I don't quite get why people love to buff a weapon with magic weapon or crystal weapon spell. It has only 1 usage! ONE. And it lasts for 1 min...jesus.

are you using a catayst that havles spell uses? magic weapon's damage are not affected by your catayst and/or intelligence. use a catayst that doesn't halve spell uses and you can use it 3 times

It actually has 3 uses, unless you're using the Tin Crystalization Catalyst. People use it for the highest DPS possible and it's useful in going all out for bosses and pvp. 60 seconds of extra damage is better than not having it, and the damage is significant. You can also extend the length of the spell by 30 seconds with the Lingering Dragoncrest Ring.

Well you're kind of right. The spell is affected by the magic adjust stat of the catalyst which, depending on the catalyst, may be affected by intelligence. At 50 int, the Crystal catalyst will significantly add more damage to a weapon.

Look you're overthinking this, you're already overpowered for every enemy in Oolacile, save Manus and Artorias. Oolacile has an interesting little spell called Dark Bead somewhere, and once you get it, every boss in the game dies in 2 shots. Sorceries are OP for PVE.
