Red Wyvern Tail ?

I'm trying to cut the bridge wyvern's tail without bow but I only have a longsword. Force about 14.
I'm watching any tutorial I can find but everyone does it with better weapons and one shots it.
I can hit the tail 3 times but it still doesnt drop...
Any advice ? Where can I find better weapons ? I only got undead merchant (or I missed something) but he only sells low equipment.

Welp. because they either leave it for later to come back or do it with a bow, get some arrows you'll need em and a lot.

Easiest way is to buy a shortbow and a bunch of wooden arrows. Stand on the bridge under it and chip away at the tail when you can. Doesn't take too long, and you're much less likely to get your face raped and burned off.

Oh I thought it was possible on first encounter without the bow (that I find a bit cheated)
I think I will leave it where it is for now ^^

That's a tough challenge. I still can't handle the dragon in melee. I'm impressed you manage to even hit the tail at your level. I'd just die before hitting it once.

It's possible, it's just really really dangerous. NG I have only tried to kill the dragon after Londo Anor. NG+ and beyond, I don't even ♥♥♥♥ with it...it seems to get a LOT more agressive and dangerous in NG+/

I didn't think it was possible to be more aggressive ^^
I found a video where the guy beats it with drake sword so maybe if I cut his tail I could beat it right now ! (he s 16 strenght) But he also shows he's got a blue ring, don't know if that changes much the damage (I don't understand a single thing about the inventory and the objects I find, not used the RPGs in general, just did the witcher 1 lol)

Blue Tearstone Ring gives you added defense when your HP is low. Does nothing for your offense.

you try pine resin? idk if it'll bring your dmg up enough to get the drop in those 3 swings but it might be worth a try

Well I'd suggest to kill the merchant and get uchigata of him.
A hard decision to make, but you get a cool sword at the end. :)
Don't forget to buy all his stuff though. Keys and sheet..

So, if youre not used to Rpg's I can also suggest you to read carefully every Item description, so you know what items can do and to figure out how to use them properly. (Also you can discover Lore of the game through Item descriptions)

you have to hit the tip of the tail to - but, tbh, in order to do that easily you'd have to be experienced with the game at which point you'd also be aware that Drake sword does offer nothing helpful apart from seemingly high base damage output (along with bad reach and poor moveset)
