Dark Souls Randomizer Mod?

I'm trying to play the dark souls enemy randomizer and item randomizer with friends. Will that get us banned? Is it safe? I've been doing some research and have been seeing mixed info about softbans and the mod, so is it safe to play with a few friends online or not? Any info/help would be appreciated. (inspired by Criken)

I've heard that you might get banned, but never heard about people getting banned for this. Maybe just don't try to invade people. Also I've heard about cheating cheaters getting banned and contacting the support with "I'll never do that again" and getting their ban lifted. So I would say it's pretty safe as long you're not trying to take advantage of it against other people.

Yeah not trying to invade anyone, just play on our own and if anyone invades us then oh well.
