No sound in game at all.

Hey everyone hopefully someone can help me with this because it's driving me INSANE! I can't seem to get any sound to play in ANY of my dark souls games from steam. I've tried EVERYTHING that I've found on the internet to fix the problem and have tried using no headset, using a headset, changing all the audio settings to every imaginable configuration and nothing is working. Everything else has sound but not the game. I can tab out of the game and play something on YouTube or even another game and it plays fine but still no game sound. It worked at one point about a month ago and then I had to take a break from gaming due to work and when I came back all of a sudden it's not working but I haven't changed anything. I've updated all my drivers and anything else that I could think of to try to get the sound to work but it's driving me insane to have no sound, the game to me is unplayable with no sound and I've really been having an itch to play lately so hopefully someone can help me out here.

Disable sound outputs you don't use. Which includes HDMI/DP audio of your video card, S/PDIF output of your normal sound card, bluetooth devices etc. The sound must be going through one of these for whatever reason.

Dusk of Oolacile's advice - disabling other audio devices and leaving only 1 through "manage input devices" did work for me ! :)
