Is hacking still a big problem?

I would like to buy and support this game as I do love DS in all its forms... but I'm a little pushed back from this as I've heard that it's absolutely plagued with hackers exploiting old issues that were once solved. It's bad enough that they can get you banned and mess with your save. Is that in the past, or should I stay worried?

everyone has had their own experience i have run into hackers multiple times throughout my ds remastered experience it didnt make me stop playing but it is very annoying and it is still present its not even about luck it just simply happens and certain people do not experience it but that by no way means the hacker problem is not widespread it is a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ problem and the worst part is u got idiots who instead of acknowledging it they say its not a big deal just carry on i hope u dont run into filthy hackers (using anothers program is still hacking) cheers

Well there's a difference to me between regular cheaters and those who legit do damage enough to corrupt your save data and get you banned. It's that stuff that I'm worried about, more than the guy who is just unkillable or whatever.

Most, if not all, people who'd invade others to ♥♥♥♥ with their save file and maybe get them banned are gone.

Also there is no "corrupting save data". That would mean being upable to load your save. Most they can do is curse you, give an egg, dradon body, break all equipement, kick you out from your covenant, drain all soft souls and humanity, rarely teleport you to ash lake or somewhere else, and, in unique cases when the guy is smart enough to figure out how, kill your local bosses and npc's (maybe it's possible to kill all of them, but i doubt it). Out of all these only last one, which, virtually, doesn't happen, is irreversible.

Probably more "hackers" (people using cheat engine) on dark souls 3. I ran into them all the time.

I've done maybe 70 invasions over the past two days, and haven't encountered anyone obviously cheating. Still plenty of disconnectors, though.

Yes. I ran into a hacker while I was trying to summon somebody to help me to fight OnS. He was just standing outside OnS using mad hacks. Its insane.

Aside from the hype at release when "Malcolm Reynolds" streamed live while hacking like a maniac, I can't say I've actually met many hackers myself. I have a suspicion I've met one or two but none of them have permanently damaged any of my characters.
