I want to note that the Demon's Greataxe outclasses the Demon's Greathammer. If you acquired your DGH from the Asylum Demon, then go ahead and use it, but upgrade to the Greataxe as soon as you can. The DGH has a B in Strength scaling. The DGA has an A in Strength Scaling, and once upgraded to +15, this becomes an S, which is the highest possible scaling. It is the strongest strength weapon in the entire game, and can be buffed! They both have the same speed, and while they don't have the same moveset, it won't affect anything.
Yeah I found this out pretty quick in my research (luckily spoiler free), but it's a suggestion from my friend who says shes never seen anyone use the greathammer. Honestly I can see why nobody would use it, as it is literally one of the least recommended weapons
She said that "yeah, but this is dark souls, and all I hear is 'it's a challenge' right?"
The hammer has its uses. It can smack a particular boss in her weakspot...
