I did look it up, but I was somewhat conflicted if I had to kill them each time I die to protect Solaire. I found out I didn't, but thanks.
That's not how this game works you fool. You need to stay human to get the NPC invasions and get your full health bar. Most of us don't like the broken PVP in this game.

However, being human or not h as no effect on your health bar.
This is Dark Souls 1. You don't get decreased health bar for hollowing.
I like seeing the other player phantoms. Makes the world feel more alive.
There's no health penalty for being Hollow in DS1.
There is no NPC invasions in Demon ruins, or Lost Izilith fool. Play offline if you don't like certain ingrained game mechanics you goofy scrubo.
