Should I go back to Northern Undead Asylum?
So I just got into Blighttown and rested at the first fire (the top one). But then I remembered reading something about the rusted iron ring and that it would help me through the swamps. Should I leave Blighttown now and go back to the asylum to pick it up and then come back, all the way down Depths, again?

If you didn't have it before, it's not worth it now I think. Going all the way back.
I had played the original game before so on the remaster I got the ring for those swamp areas, it's pretty good. But I don't think it's worth going all the way back.

i dont think i ever had to use that ring. it helps in some areas but is not a must-have.

Not really worth the trip since you're already down there. But it's a good idea to go there once you come back up for sure.

Edit: The backway from near Quelaag's is a neat shortcut back to Firelink so the trip really isn't that long though.

I only go back to the asylum for red chunks, the "doll" where the game starts(can't remember name, can't go to painted world without it) and to trade with Snuggly. That ring only ever helps me fight the Titanite Demons at the bottom of Sen's Fortress.

Just "roll" through the water everywhere else.

Not worth getting out of B town once you made your way down to that bonfire. That ring is useful for later parts of that area, but its no big deal if you don't have it.
You'll likely get poisoned at some point without the ring, but the damage is so minimal that it's not really a concern. Just keep a few purple mosses handy for poison removal, or even if you don't have that, a single Gatorade charge will heal most of it.

Nah, not worth it. The ring helps by letting you move freely in water, which comes in handy in Blighttown, but it's not needed tbh, you can still do Blighttown's swamp just fine without it.

Best use of the ring is if you're playing with a friend who never played before you can pretend you have magic move fast in swamp powers.

But you wouldn't be pretending. You really do have magic move fast in swamp powers.
