I like the Remaster, 60fps and better online is really cool, but I can't say I expected something at least a little bit better.
And then bazillion script kiddies ran around launch weeks eggheading & cursing newbies since like ds3, the anti - cheat mechanics only ended up being used to grief legit players.
I think it's the same deal as ds2 Scholar. Split the existing playerbase with a patch that came at the price of a full game. Kinda lame, but on the plus side it did fix the online since in PTDE you needed 3rd party software to connect to anyone.
But I bought it.
Stable, kinda, 60fps, fixed connection and revive of multiplayer.
It was fine for 2 months now it's dead.
There are remasters that give players so much more: - they are free if You own the game
- they completly change and improve graphics and not some lazy hd textures or new effects to game, there are still plenty of places where textures are missing, are stretch out or look like garbage straight from ps2.
- they add more things into the game and do not break base aspects of it, hello changing convenants at bonfire.
They made Ds1 Remaster so casuals can play it and thus giving them more money.
I'm suprised they did not added lootboxes or skins for real money into the game.
There is much more to tell on subject as multiplayer in all 5 games(DS PTDE, Ds Remaster, Ds2, Scholar, Ds3) is dead so is this topic.
Example
you can invade with 15+ armor on some sl 20 person who has a 5+ weapon ofc and none other than the giant dad armor
with the bad weapon matchmaking they made co-op more dead and limited
The amount of hackers on launch day and who kept going through the months
destroying peoples saves and cursing them
No protection or punishment
adding more fhantoms which this game is not meant for that many and ended everyone having steamrolled it and more gank squads
the unberable estus chugging from ds3 was brought in here
atleast in ds1 you can get punished with backstab if you were going to estus chug on pvp or pve
no bug fixes
lighting on most areas is bad i have to raise brightness on 8 to see ♥♥♥♥
The visual and gameplay changes in DSR were likely to prevent the DS3 kiddies from crying, but it turns out that just wasn't enough because it's getting trashed by that crowd since the combat isn't spam roll to win, backstabs aren't useless, and the graphics aren't washed-out enough.
In short, Dark Souls Remastered is unsatisfying for both new and old players. That's one heck of an accomplishment, and not something the devs should be proud of.
