The Prepare to Die Edition require mods to look decently and for the multiplayer to work.
Thanks for the reply. Is it true remastered is full of hackers and what not?
Ahahahahahahahahahaha.
Ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha.
Ah, sorry about that.
Long reply short yeah, the online is full of hackers; hacker-wise it may be the worst launch of a Souls game I've seen.
You should do backups of your save file frequently, or avoid the online. The game is a singleplayer title first and foremost so you aren't missing much.
Shouldn't remastered just be a patch for it anyways? ;$)
That said, you're about to embark on a hell of an adventure. If you're going to play the Prepare to Die Edition, you need a mod named DSFix for the game to play at a decent resolution and a mod named DSCM for the multiplayer to work correctly.
I only got hacked once as a phantom (I rarely summon people), but at least 3/4 of the people that summoned me before Anor Londo had a lovely parasite egg on their head as early as the undead parish, and the Steam forum has been full of people complaining about their characters being ruined, softbans and refunds.
Kinda apples & oranges.
Other than that i would say dsr is better to play.
Considering the thread is 2 years old and there's still no mouse next to OP's name, I think it's safe to say they finished PtdE by now and aren't planning to buy the Remastered.
Still, the question was of my own experience and wondering. Maybe someone else will benefit nonetheless, since I got my answer, too. :)
I prefer PvE: DS:R is better.
I prefer PvP: PTDE is better.
I prefer co-op with friends: DS:R is better.
I want to be carried by my phantoms: DS3 is better.
I think DS3 is the best game in the series: I eat crayons.
This. Why did I get 7 new comments over 3 days on a 3 year old post XD (I see I even marked a post that answered my question)
But yes, I played ptde and finished it ages ago. Didn't feel the need to buy a game I already owned and had never played.
Had a lot of fun and only broke one monitor. GL all
