earliest purging stone you can get?

Trading the sack at snuggly the crow gives you a stone I think

The earliest purging stone is to get right after you arrive the Gargoyle Church. ( You don't need to kill the Gargoyles for it.)
Activate the elevator and visit the tutorial area. There you trade one cracked red eye orb to Snuggly, it will give you 2 purging stones.
