Moonlight Greatsword Build Questions

Hi,

I want to try MGS. My priority will be weapon over spells. I have two questions:

1- Is SL140 ok for mages? It can be summoned to 120 but I want to know if high levels are
normal for mages.

2- Could you please offer fashion souls for mages with some poise. It is ok if I use the wolf ring to
meet final poise breakpoint.

I'm unfamiliar with mages in DS games. Could you please help me to make a build? I figured this one:

If you want to do PVP i would stop alt SL125.

your Endurance is way to high i would change it to 40 and put Vit up to 50
1800 hp is enough to survive a few hits/Backstab.

i would change your build to smt like this

you can wear dusk crown for more magic Damage alternatively
and i have upped DEX to 13 For Queelags Fury Sword as Backup weapon.
And INT to 50 for MLG Scaliing but you can stop at 45 thats usually enough.



Spell Choices and armor are also up to you its just an example but i would stay at the 53 poise breakpoint this allows you to not get staggerd so easily (e.g :Katana Running R1).
So you only have to worry about Ultragreatswords.

This is the SL125 meta Sorcerer build that I run. It absolutely nukes bosses in PVE, and one-shots invaders in PVP if you get the combo off. Sometimes Dark Bead one shots them by itself, depending on how close they are.

With this INT, Moonlight Greatsword scales to a very respectable 380 AR. I personally wouldn't go any higher than SL125, because the higher up you go, the harder it's going to be to get matched with someone.

Finally, you can swap out the FAP ring for the Duskcrown Ring if you want to go a full glass cannon build, but one backstab will kill you. Alternatively, you can swap out Logan's Catalyst for Manus' Catalyst to make your spells even more powerful. Generally not worth it, because it halves your already arguably low spell count in exchange for a big boost in power. The 50 INT is in case you want to swap out the dark sorceries for the crystal sorcereries: Homing Crystal Soulmass and Crystal Soul Spear.

you also might think about going spell-less, having int for the sword only and really focus on mastering it (if you don't like spells anyway), having more points for end since you dont need att.

wolf ring is a good ring for pvp.

apart from that first reply looks good to me (also 13dex and fury backup)

fill rest of stats into endurance/Vitality

Rest of armor doesnt matter (light rolling is nice but medium is same frames as slowest fast roll so shrug the only difference is recovery post roll for actions post roll are slower with a medium roll by far)
