If u decide to save her u will get an rly awesome ring called Ring of Favor and Protection which i think is worth going through all the trouble

You'll be able to actually speak with her if you restore her, also you can warp FROM firelink and REST at firelink if you save her.

Most people kill Lautrec early to get the ring.

Well you can warp to the Firelink shrine but you can't use it to warp anywhere else, and New Londo Ruins doesn't have a bonefire, so that might be annoying.
