1. Make sure Dark Souls Remaster is allowed through the windows firewall
2. Verify the game integritty/Reinstall the game
3. Keep mashing the "try again" button and eventually it will show Online in the upper left hand corner. *1
4.Delete save data from in game and start over
*1 This method seems to partially work. I managed to get into game and see other characters ghosts, Bloodsigns, And heard the Chapel bells(You hear them ring in your game when other characters are rining them in their own game) but tested with a friend who didn't seem my sign and vice versa.
This finding has led me to believe this is some sort of ban flagged by the anti cheat system. On the majority of banned people they will tell you you're soft banned with a pop up message and when you go to the "Information" part of the menu it will say it again. For whatever reason we can't even reach that to confirm but I can't think of any other reason why. I've got more proof this has to be the case because of you set up a dummy steam account and game share with it the issue is no longer present and everything workds as normal. The soft bans are rumored to last a week before checking again to see if whatever was flagged has been removed but I don't know if our issues are handled the same way, So if you're still wanting to play in the mean time you have to go through the ballache of setting up and logging into another steam account just to play one game. I'll leave an update on Friday if It does manage to fix itself after the week is up. I wish you luck with the earlier mentioned methods.
You G! You fixed it. thanks brother
