Seal Key bug
My friend killed the guy in New Lando on accident and he didn't drop the key. What does he do?

Try reloading the area, or check the chest that sits behind Frampt's location

he always drops the key tho if he hasn't given it to you.

He checked the chest and tried reloading, nothing. And he did not drop the key at all. I read about a fatal bug on PTD edition where this happens..

Maybe revert to an old save if backups were made.

Are they made automatically?

Nope, you need to do it manually. Saves are found in an NBGI folder in documents. If Ingward didn't drop the key and no other methods work that character might be toast.

Why would you run around giving information that is false to the poor guy?

From wiki:

On the PC version this guy is currently seriously bugged and he may not drop the key when killed, making your playthrough impossible.
Here is a link to a video showing you how to obtain the key if this happens: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKPaaZDgVak

BTW, that was one google search and the first entry - git gud googling should be a thing, it would be less work for the OP than actually posting.

You could use CE to spawn him/the key. You shouldn't get banned for it, but backup all the same. Other than that, your mate will have to start anew.

Only way to get it is through changing item ID with the cheat engine... (Says Reddit). What are the ban odds?

It probably won't but back up all the same. The key is a normal drop so that won't flag it. I don't think merely hooking CE to the game flags it as well, but if it does that's what will get you ding dong bannu'd.

A much cleaner solution if possible is have anyone else (literally anyone else) back up their save, drop the key for you, then exit out and paste back the backed up save. That way you essentially both have it.

I'm not able to but someone else might be.

I wouldn't really toy with CE because I really don't know how this anti-cheat software works against it. How far have you gotten on that character?

I don't think key items can be dropped for others.
