Recommended level for blade of the darkmoon covenant

I want to try to farm for dmb, but I'm already at level 68. Did I go too far to get activity in Dark Anor Londo?

Also, how's the hacker situation? Are many people getting hit with the curse+egghead?

In this game there is zero reason to kill NPCs, except for one, however, people tend to kill NPCs at the end of NG for the items and humanities. Which means you're mostly going for people in NG+ and beyond, which is SL80+infinity. Note that inexperienced players who farm a lot may be even further, so SL100+ is a safe bet.

Another way to sin is invading, so people at SL120-140, the pvp meta, should be paradise for you.

I was thinking of mostly doing pvp in dark anor londo using the ring, what would be the sl meta for that?

As a blueberry myself, I have had a lot of success with invading players using the Blue Eye Orb in the following areas (I'm SL 65) - Tomb of the Giants, Painted World of Ariamis, Duke's Archives.
These three were the most active, the most I've had to wait was about 2 minutes.
I also had success in dark Anor Londo (using the ring), albeit with a bit more waiting time...
I haven't tried yet but I assume Demon Ruins & Izalith would also be good at this SL.

a nasty side effect of being a darkmoon blade and invading in Painted World is that you'll inevitably find yourself against hosts who just sit on the bridge and kick you off as soon as you are summoned.
cheese tactics for trolls and people who can't fight properly.

Nothing really. Most people don't know that dark AL is a thing. The target group for invasion is probably smaller than in any of the broken covenants of the series. Most of time time finding conventional sinners is hard enough already.

You can surely try though, SL40-50 (WL +5-10) is anyone doing it upon reaching AL, SL70-80+ (WL +15) for people going back for Gwyndolin at the end of the playthrough. And of course anything higher for people in higher NG cycles.
