Can I change my name/appearance in CE?

No I'm not using it to be a filthy invader. In fact, I only do coop with my Cleric but I want to look a bit different like change my hair color and my name.

Can I do that safely without getting spanked by soft?

You have a point, I'll wait and see if someone knows I can safely use it without getting banned.

I've done it and not gotten banned yet, so I think it's fine. I would test on an alt account to be safe.

edit: by that I mean name changing, appearance changing shouldnt effect anything at all.

Changing your name will mess up the on server data of your character information, will probably trigger a soft ban.

I changed my name on a character and did not trigger anything.

you shouldn't do that, it will change some hard value of your character. i don't see how this should escape the ban

you can safely change your appearence, just iffy on the name change

Assuming it uses the same flag system as DaS3, a name change would probably flag your save.

No idea about appearence.

don't do it. i tried with CE and i got softbanned. now i don't know what to do to escape the online restriction

^ Don't use CE in future games.

I was tempted to use the CE to extend my character's name beyond the limit, since I kept getting invaded by someone called "Havel the Rock" which doesn't actually fit, but it's still not worth it.

I just want to switch the letters around, My chracters name is Aki, you can figure out the rest.

But I suppose that will still get me banned. Although the game doesn't seem to have a problem with me using different save files.
