You have to exit and open the game to be able to play with said controller again.
If you play via wires, even the connection popping off for a bit can cut the game's connection to the controller.
No, this isn't what is happening. Even if I reset steam and close all of its processes and put in the controller before hand it is not responsive in game. It's not a hadware issue the wires are perfectly fine the controller works it just stops responding specifically to the game itself.
I changed my steam client to the beta version and it's working fine now. I don't even need to use big picture mode anymore.
to do this go to steam, settings, account, betas, steam beta, and update
Are you trying to connect through bluetooth or usb? I think that might make a difference.
Windows 10 automaticly installs xbox drivers wich causes conflicts with exlusive mode. You have to block this by installing some (shady?) mod.
