Does copying save file (backup) get you banned?
I'm in Sen's Fortress and haven't gotten to the bonfire yet. It's quite hard to get there and I got a plan that would make it less painful. First, I get past that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ serpent mage camping the second trap bridge, then I quit out, and I copy my save somewhere else. When I die, I copy that save that I just copied, and overwrite the one where I just died. Question is, will I get banned, or is it safe?

In DS3 restoring saves isn't bannable (with some exceptetion, but it's too rare).
In every other Dark Souls situation is similar.
I can't say I am 100% sure it's same for DSR, but still close to it.
It shouldn't be, regardless of whether its exploits or not.

As long as there's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ idiots ruining other people's games, this should be acceptable.

Great. Well, does playing in offline mode decrease the chance of getting banned?

"banned" means not able to play online, so you can literally do whatever you want in offline. Just note that if you do stupid ♥♥♥♥ that would get you banned in online, it will get you banned regardless.

Hell yea it does. No online = no hackers who can meet you with banhammer
You're good, I've done this several times already to trade over items to people without losing them myself. So far, I haven't received a softban (and most likely won't). So, backup and restore away.

This game has cloud save also right? Well, I don't trust it. It's always good to have a manual backup on hand anyhow, just in case your save corrupts or a script kiddie hits you with a stat-altering item.

Praise the sun indeed.:praisesun: Good thing this thread exists. Was worrying about summoning people for a boss and then have some pathetic backstabber come in and wast my humanity. It still gives them the petty victory but I get to keep my stuff.
