why does laurentius attack?

After you learn any chaos pyromancy, laurentius leaves and when he sees you in blighttown he will attack you.

One would assume he is hollow like everyone else, but is there any reason to believe he either resents you, as his pupil, for attaining knowledge that he doesnt have, or that he is against chaos pyromancies? Maybe due to their danger/relation to demons?

In their case it's probably always been just straight up "It's ****ing Blight town." and got curb stomped until they hollowed.

Sometimes there isn't any 7 hour long youtube lore discussion about hidden meaning. Sometimes it's just about how everyone who isn't the protagonist really, really sucks at bouncing back from death while undead.

Just look at Oscar, "Oh **** I fell down a hole. Have some Estus, so long I'm gonna go hollow within the next five minutes" Whether he was alive to start with, or undead when you met him. That's just, wow, come on oscar. Get your **** together.

oscar is trying to make the prophecy come true though, the one passed down in his family for generations. its not just because he will go hollow soon that he gives you a flask, its because he thinks you could be the one, or at least, he knows he is not at that point. Also he didnt fall down that hole the asylum demon smashed him through the ceiling/floor, which is why his condition is critical. least thats how i understand all that

I think Laurentius hollowed while trying and failing to find Quelana. Remember, she was surprised that you could see her during your initial meeting.

i think because he doesnt speak at all you can assume he is hollow. I think every hollow npc has in common that they just attack you and dont talk during the battle and when they die.
