For PVP - Poise or Flip Ring?
Asking veterans with a ton of hours. Which is better? Poise tanking and rushing the enemy, or poking with the flip ring? I'm using the chaos blade and pyromancy.

I asked if I should go for poise or ninja flip because I'm in a situation where I have to chose. I'm not using your build.

position them near each other in menu so you're able to switch on short notice.

poise is always good but flippin is, too. It's easy mode vs. magic/miracles.
I suggest testing it yourself - plenty of zweis and dark magic around to do so.

you're already using chaos blade so i don't think you need a tutorial on how to be even more of a degenerate

Now now.

Poise for tanking hits / hitstagger prevention mostly. Depends solely on your gear X opponent's gear. If they use ♥♥♥♥♥♥ small arms, flip ring is better unless you have 0 base poise.

Basically find what suits you best tbh

The Dark Wood Grain Ring is kind of useless imo.

It gives you 2 more invincibility frames. That's less than 20% ...

It's not so much for that but the faster recovery time.

Normal rolls have a larger amount of recovery vs grain ring, which means countering etc is easier.

I'm just going to say this.

I've personally never been in a PVP encounter were I lost because my oponent had the ring. The ring used to be overpowered but now it's .... just okay? I just think there're better options, usually. It depends on your build, right?

If someone is using DWGR and not rushing in to hit you, you will not hit them.

At all.

Ive been using havels legs and thorn armor for poise and while the flip ring would be nice I prefer poise so I can take some hits. Im using chaos blade as well. I just fast roll and I feel like I win most matches that arent gankers

It depends on your build. Please post your but mugenmonkey so we can optimize.

You must be meeting one of there poise breakpoints if you wear Wolf Ring:

If you can't get good poise try flip ring.

Faster roll, extremely spammable, removes instability damage that you'd have when fast rolling.

It's pretty damn powerful dude.

Yes. Overall cost-performance value of wolf ring is much higher than flip ring.

Wolf ring is for apes. Flip or high poise depends on your main weapon. Flip builds also have poise but not as much. Generally 31. If you're using like kumo, you want high poise so you can run backstab everything. Chaos blade doesn't really need that and it benefits more from flip ring overall.

Also forgot to mention trading in there, since that's also a thing to consider.

Depending if you plan to stick with chaos blade, don't trade with zweis for example. Also AAA mentioned above me, but 31 is a very nice amount of poise to have, so if you hit that without having to use wolf, you're pretty much gonna want flip ring.
