Problem with picking up an item
I just killed the Mimic in the AoTA DLC that is supposed to drop the key to Gough's place but instead of simply recieving the item I can see a little item bag and I can't pick it up, it just keeps dropping it back (This is in NG+1 but I checked and I don't have the key in my inventory)

Either the door is unlocked in NG+ (no idea) or you missed the key in your inventory somehow.

Reloading if it's a bag item will despawn it so make sure it's not there first. Very weird either way.

I had a similiar issue with Fire Keeper souls. I found that reloading the game helped but I don't know if it's the same glitch for you.

Are you sure you killed the right mimic, inside the building?
If you killed the mimic on the round stone platform, this item could be a carving stone. Since you only can carry one, you would see a bag item on the ground.
