How to backup save files?

In DS2 and 3 it was in %appdata%, but it's not the same for ds1. where is the save file there, so that i can restore it, if i get hacked.

1. Navigate to: Documents\NBGI\DARK SOULS REMASTERED
It may look like:
C:\Users\Your_Username\Documents\NBGI\DARK SOULSREMASTERED
Here you find a folder that is named with a bunch of number. (to save time in the
future, right click the folder that is named with a bunch of numbers and choose:
Send to, Desktop (create shortcut) You can now find this folder a lot easier and
faster.
Open the folder, here is your save file.

2 .Simply right click the save file and choose copy, Now paste it to your desktop, or a new folder of your choosing.

3. How to do this while your in game: Hold down Alt and hit tab. aka Alt/Tab. its a good idea to hit show desktop button in your lower right hand corner or your taskbar

4. From here you can now backup or restore you save file. Simply copy your backup, and paste it into the game folder from step 1. Just make sure you dont back it up AFTER getting your character ruined.

Honestly just search Drak into your windows search bar

The save folder was already mentioned, i recommend using the speedsouls save organizer to backup and manage your saves with more ease. It works on every souls game.

Manual copy and paste works just fine. But if you like to be fancy you could use file sync with "cloud" storage. I have a home server set up with owncloud and turns out it's useful for automatically keeping game save back ups too.

Hello Necromancer, that function doesn't work on every game, at least not with the saves. Plus the intention is to have a manual backup in case a hacker screws with your save so you can restore right away. Problem with cloud is, if they crash your game it auto uploads the messed up save.
