Considering i already knew every tiny detail of the game before i bought the remasterd... i still enjoy it.
Like for real, im actually working on the darksoul achievemnt and such...
If you are a fan of the series, i do recommend that you pick it up...
However there are various... problems with it...
As its an old game, all popular builds are already found... so you have this noob army of GiantDads that are everywhere... (I swear they are worse that roaches...)
Furthermore, there are cheaters in this game... (thats no surprise as they were common in DS2 and DS3 as well... but its worth to mention).
But the online aspect works fairly well now. When i played this game the first time the community has had died out a bit... so no real online interactions... so this is pretty fun.
In all truth... its probably just a "cashgrab" ... but its probably the most worthwhile "cashgrab" you have seen in several years... And besides... if you are new to this game... then it still is not a cashgrab... Its basically a 20 dollar game + a 20 dollar Graphic DLC with multiplayer inclusion.
Because say what you will... If you would have bought DS1 prepared to die last year... you wont have any multiplayer interactions. And the graphics have been upped nicely.
For me, considering i already played trough the old version 50 times, knowing all secrets and such, its still worth it...
So if you like darksouls, and difficult games (because this is way more difficult than that petty excuse of a DS3)... then you will LOVE this game as well...
Literally no reason to play PTD once you have remastered though, except for maybe nostalgia reasons.
They didn't truly replaced the game. You can download and even still play it online. It just can't be bought anymore. Edit: Which will kill it in a short time.
To be fair, it's running on a different engine, has a few new features etc. I'm not complaining. Cheaters are an issue atm tho.
Its the same exact engine, some modding tools even works with this game without any change, at max its a updated version, but its still the same engine.
