There should be a hidden path that brings you back up above the bridges, around where you encountered the second necromancer. It should start just beyond the last turning bridge.
I *think* there's a switch for the first bridge on the far side (in the room), but don't quote me on that! Also, the first bridge is slightly higher than the path on which you first enter the area - so it might be possible to roll/drop from the "far" side of the bridge, back to that initial path.
No, not that one. There is another spot, just beyond the second turning bridge, you have to break down a crumbling wall, then through the crypt where you find the darkmoon seance ring.
This is the area that leads to the Giant skeleton guarding the Darkmoon Seance Ring.
Go through the hole in the wall by the ring to find a path leading up to a Necromancer.
Where the Necromancer is, you can drop down to the fog gate again or climb the ladder to a schorcut leading back to the area wher the very first Necromance was.
You will be attacked by 4 skeletons if you drop down but it is the only way.
Good Luck.
(There's a bonfire at Vamos? How did I not see it?)
On the way back I found this beautiful new Vamos bonfire. Now the true challenge started , because sitting at this fire seems to be a trap. Took me 1 hour and many deaths to leave the Catacombs. Was worth it ( if you have nothing better to do )
Also this!
Use the quick way down to get straight to Pinwheel. Fall Control helps, but isn't neccessary (1 or 2 estus wasted otherwise). Rest only at the first Catacombs bonfire - then bone it back once you have the rite of kindling. Once you've used that way down, it's a breeze - just need to be careful with positioning and rolling on the first two drops.
-20 estus ( or 10 if you are a red or white phantom)
-Pick the Great Scythe if you like it.
-Pick the Skulln Lantern and trade it to Snugly.
-Or visit Vamos, if you want an early Smith.
