How to Co-op with friend?

Hi all,

Was wondering how to help my noob friend? I read the guids on how to do it but it never works D:

Here are the specifics:
-I am Lv 29 and she is Lv 20
-I reached the sewers area and she just entered the church where the first bell is (Boss and other enemies still alive)
-I am placing my summon sign in the area outside the church where there's 3 enemies just infront of the bridge to the bonefire there.
-I replace my summon every 20 second.
-She is human and I am human

If anyone has extra tips, we would truely appeciate it!

Only your friend needs to be human. You guys should use a password (in the matchmaking options) so your sign won't show up in other people's worlds.

Then simply put it down and wait. It might take a moment but she will see it eventually.

Don't replace it, it will just take more time.

I have a password on. Does she also need to put the same password there?

Yes you both need to have the same password.

If she wants to summon more people, she can simply remove the password after she's summoned you.

Make sure in the settings>Network settings, you BOTH have unrestricted + Global setted. Then if your using password, just use four numbers or something simple like "meow".

Only the host needs to be human, and she can only summon you if she hasnt beaten the boss in that area.

Well, I wouldn't know if the password has to be there in the settings or that she has to put it when she finds my summon. I'm no Dark Soul Coop Expert
