Are there any ways to unlock the frame rate?
If I can't hit 60 fps the game runs slowly - are there any ways (even if they're as yet unreleased/rumored mods people are currently working on) that would allow me to unlock gamespeed from framerate?

My current rig (which can run DS1, 2, and even 3 (on low settings) fine) can only hit 30fps on the remaster and is painfully slow as a result.

I don't really care about things looking good or having a high FPS, I just want the game to be playable so I can join in the multiplayer. I've got PtDE if all I cared about was the PvE.

Refunding is a last resort while I'll take if I have to - but for now, does it look like there may be ANY way to unlock the framerate?

If you can't even 60fps, then whats unlocking the framerate going to do? Unlocking framerate means you can go past the games natural FPS, meaning HIGHER than 60fps. But if you can't even play at 60fps, then unlocking framerate is pointless. But no, you can't unlock frame rate in this game, not yet at least.

Perhaps I was confusing two separate things then - what I meant to refer to was the tie between gamespeed and framerate.

And @Lenny yeah, probably :P but I've got to see if there's a way to make the best of what I have
What about the lowest resolution (800x600)?

Yeah like above. Have you tried turning the resolution down to get a better framerate.

I've already set the resolution and all other graphics settings to lowest/best performance (including turning off V-sync). I've also tried manually allocating more virtual memory, updating integrated graphics card drivers etc...

It hasn't been enough to hit 60 fps though sadly - which was why I was curious if there was a way to get the game to play nice and at normal speed at /less/ than 60 fps.

I have no idea if this is a sane expectation though - if not, then whoops, but just curious if it is possible.

Are you consistantly getting over 30? I think if you enable V-Sync it should lock to 30 if your not hitting 60 at all.
