That was never a glitch, assuming you mean making him fall to his death. The soulsborne series has a number of bosses with special kill conditions that get different animations.

When will people understand that it wasn't a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ glitch? IT'S INTENDED!!! Ceaseless Discharge was the baby brother of the chaos witches and he never managed to grow up, so the point is that he miscalculates the distance between you and him and jumps to try and hit you, when you hit his arm he let's go of his grip and falls into the lava lake. It symbolizes how he is still dumb as a child who could never grow up.

This cheesy instakill seems work only first attempt. If you get killed while running to fog gate or use homeward bone he will not do suicidal jump when you revisit him.

If you get killed you need to revisit the stone table you get the Gold Hemmed set from then run back to the fog wall to trigger the jump. He gets procced by you taking the set because, from memory, that was the clothes of his sister so he understandably gets angry when you take it, then gets desperate to catch you when you get too far away. So the mechanics are actually to do with the lore that a lot of players don't bother reading.

Because like I said, you have to head back as if you were grabbing the items again, and THEN run back to the gate. It's part of his coding
