Sprint and jump?

All over the place there are spots where you need to close a gap to access a hidden item area. Around these places I see these inscriptions: try jumping! Thanks, would love to. How the hell do you jump in the remaster? I've seen people playing the original, sprinting their little heads off and then jumping. There is no keybind for sprint on PC for the keyboard. Jump is spacebar. The same button for rolling etc. Running to a ledge and pressing spacebar rolls you to your death. So I tried rebinding it to something else so that the buttons don't overlap. The new button does nothing when pressed. How the hell do I jump then? Is jumping just...not in the game or something and they left inaccessible areas, useless messages and a non-functioning keybind in there?

Try this: Move forward, hold space bar, quickly release and press the space bar as you're running forward.

You can only jump from a sprint. If both are on same key, hold down sprint until you want to jump, then quickly release and press again. If you've already rebinded, as you said, just sprint and press the jump button at the same time you want to jump.

Got it. Turns out, the Dash=Sprint in the controls. What they fail to say in the keybindings is that you need to hold the space bar, not press it. So they list Dash, Roll and Backstep as a spacebar press, when what they mean is spacebar hold for Dash.

Oddly, the default controller settings on the PC version of the Remaster is Roll and Jump are both B, and since i can't sprint that means i can't jump using this technique.

Yes you can. Roll/Run/jump is the same button. Just follow the instructions above.

2018 year, i bloody doubt that someone asked
