Small Issue with character run speed
So, there's basically three movement speeds in dark souls 1 right? Walking with a light stick movement, jogging with any more stick movement than light, and sprinting while holding the Circle/B button your controller depending, and consuming stamina.

Weird thing keeps happening to me when I'm jogging, I'll sometimes go to walking even though my stick is still firmly pushed into jogging territory. Sprinting seems unaffected by this bug, so its not me running out of stamina and stopping like with sprinting, so naturally I'm quite confused. Anyone else get this? trying to eliminate the variable of 'is it the game or is it me?' before I consider investing in a new controller.

I'm using a DualShock4 with DS4Windows software, Windows 7. What are you using? Might try switching to my PS3 controller and see if it shows any improvement. Really irritating bug.

pretty sure theres buttons that lock you into slow walk, you should get a little status icon if thats the case.

Firstly, no there isn't a button which locks you into slow walk.
This is a bug where the game suddenly changes your movement speed to a slow walk, and then it goes back to normal. It's intermittent, not a permanent problem. Like, you can run 95% of the time, but occasionally the game will glitch and you'll start walking really slow.

ahh ok, maybe im thinking of dark souls 2, or did they remove them in the remaster? as i remember accidentally pressing the keys that toggle slow walk/block all the time.

Changed to a different controller (Logitech F710) and the problem went away immediately.
Weird. It's not a problem with my other controller cuz it works perfectly with all other games. Guess the DS Remaster just doesn't agree with certain USB devices or something.

Guess I'll have to find another controller. Fair enough, least I know. Thanks.

Never had a ps4, and thus never had the controller for one. But good to know.

+1 :)
Why use DS4Windows when you can use the built-in Steam controller configuration? The steam controller configuration is pretty darn good as far as I know.
Also just get an xbox one controller to save all trouble regarding Windows 10 gaming. It has ♥♥♥♥ clicking shoulder and d-pad buttons but it’s x-input so it works virtually everywhere. Plus you can play Red Dead Redemption if it comes with a cheap Xbox One (or even better an XBoneX).
