Why Isn't My Sprint Button Working?
I'm using a Wired Xbox One Controller, and have the buttons mapped as defaulted. Everytime I press down on the B button to sprint my character forcibly walks slowly after a second of sprinting. My B button isn't broken as I have tried it with other games, and it seems to work when it comes to dodging, and jumping, but for some strange reason it won't let me sprint for more than a second. Anyone else having this problem??

Same issue with my wired PS4 controller, but it's old so maybe it's a crappy controller.

Just a suggestion, maybe enter Steam Big Picture mode and check the controller settings. I'm not too familiar with it, but I know for some games you have to make sure the Xbox Configuration Support box is unchecked. You'll find that page by clicking on the gears at the top of the first screen, then click Controller Settings.

There is no driver. Xbox One Controllers are Plug and play on Windows 10.
There are drivers. Uninstall them, and plug the controller back in.

LOL It's a problem with the game, not the drivers.

LOL yeah the controller even continues to work in Big Picture menus when this happens. If there was an issue with the drivers than nothing would work. It's definitely not the drivers. It's Dark Souls.

Try mapping it on a different button for testing purposes. Try only mapping sprint to the sprint/jump button and map jump to left stick (press).
They still haven't released a patch to fix this I see...

Btw I haven't experienced this issue. You guys might want to try changing to the beta branch of Steam, I noticed around the time Dark Souls came out there was a line in the patch notes about fixing intermitten input from controllers.

Check if Steam turned on some emulation settings for your controller.
Steam/Settings/Controller -> press first button on the right side and uncheck everything in there.
