I think AMD has something similar in their control panel app, as well.
Change that to something else to prevent the drop to 30fps.
The Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition back in 2014.. well when I used to set it to 60 fps, it would lower the frame rates to 30 fps when I was trying to figure it out, I don't remember how I fixed it.. but there was a way to keep it at 60 fps.
This could be the same issue with the remastered version, the 60 fps might auto - drop to 30 fps when your graphics card isn't capable of the performance.
The problem is.. it's not really the graphics card's fault or your PC rather.. unless your graphics card is just terrible that is.. but the problem is.. the game's engine is just so generic when it comes to optimizations around performance, that it was set to lower fps to 30 in case there were any other issues because the game itself isn't optimized for performance with the original game, and throughout.. still from the sounds of it.. hasn't been optimized for 6 - 7 years now, and after 2 other versions released "Prepare to Die Edition" and now "Remastered" shame on the game devs.
The game's engine was very compact because it's a port from the PS3 and so on.. the hardware on that game console just forced the game itself to be terrible in some ways when they were making the game, however.. they could have better optimized it and chose not to for that time, could hav been because the game devs were new employees to the team or just terrible at that time with game development. "The paths in Dark Souls 1 are so generic and typical", that it's obvious on how they were trying to design it. A part of that again was the PS3's hardware limitations. Sadly the game devs were too lazy to optimize Dark Souls 1 for the PC.
And they are still too lazy to do so with the remastered 6 or 7 years later.
Went off subject, but anyways.. maybe it's the same issue where it forces to auto - drop the frame rates back down to 30 fps when during specific moments suchs as battles, or even for specific environments and scenes. I had that issue at first while testing the mods back in 2014 on Dark Souls: Prepare to Die edition. When I first got the game, that was bs and unnecessary to need the mods for that, stuff the game devs should have fixed for a PC version, the controls were also frustrating to figure out for a while with a keyboard and mouse and managed to get the mouse sensitivity to work properly as the game should with another mod, and had to use a networking mod just to get ghosts to show up for multiplayer, which would then crash my internet because my bandwidth was too low for having massive network nodes (players) connected all at once, the game devs should have continued to support the official servers for the players.
Which makes me wonder about the remastered official servers.. and how long they will be supported if they are at all working without the mods like before.
