Uchigatana or Scimitar for Dex-based build?

I'm doing a DEX build right now, and I'm wondering if I should stick with the Scimitar or switch to the Uchigatana. The Uchi outclasses the Scimitar in damage, but the Scimitar is faster to swing. Plus the Scimitar has more durability. What do you guys think?

What uchi are you going to try? Yulia? or from the blightown NPC?

Well, I've always went Strength, so I wanted to try Dex out. And I kinda like the playstyle. It's very fast.

I got the Uchi from killing the merchant in Undead Burg.

In all seriousness though, the Gargoyle Halberd is pretty much my favorite "dex" weapon in the game.
