Cutscenes play in 16:9 but everything else works perfectly.
I realized though Ni No Kuni 2, FF 15, Nier all have 21:9 support. So I guess all the haters saying we don't deserve to have our monitors supported since we are a "minority" can eat crow. Even Japan is respecting the ultra wide.
That's not correct. It had 21:9 on launch. The videos were stretched, that's true. But the ingame graphics were non-stretched 21:9 (except for the HUD, if I remember correctly). The game had a lot of issues (still has). But I was at least pleased to see Platinum's first attempt at 21:9 support (even if not perfect).
I remember I even converted all the video files, so they don't stretch anymore and are a bit zoomed in. xD
