How to deal with Havel?
I'm entering Havel's room through the darkroot basin area, but I really have no chance to deal with him as he just one shots easily. I really wanted to get the ring, but would it be a better idea to just wait until I get stronger?

He can be parried and backstabbed, or you can just come back later. You could also cheese him with a bow outside the tower, but this method is slow af.

Parry him or backstab him. Use the morningstar if you want a decent weapon since it inflicts bleed on him.

he's easy to dodge, just backstab him after applying lightning pine resin to your weapon

Or bring a friend or summon some helpers while embered/human.
Jolly coop guy's are usually all over the place.

Thanks guys, I think i'll just worry about it when I get stronger. I guess level 23 is too low for Darkroot anyways haha

Keep backstabbing him. His moves can be easily dodged by just walking sideways. 23 isn't that low. Dark souls is more weapons than level

on drake sword it was easy just dodge and try to go backstab

wait for him to attack, side step, go behind him and backstab, for the ones that are newbies to make things faster grab any weapon with bleed effect and have fun
Or make him fall to his death.

Since he is wearing really heavy armor, he takes a fair bit of damage from falling.

Remove all of your armor (turst me, a hit will kill you regardless), agro him, then run up to the top of the stairs (all the up, not just one level). When he gets to the top, wait form him to start his swing, then roll off. Since he was alreafy swinging, he will fall. Make sure you roll away from your initial landing point so as not to get mashed.

Heal as needed, rinse and repeat until he is dead.

lol, this might be some kind of SL1 run trick or something, but it sounds ridiculous and still pretty risky and time consuming. Might as well just learn to dodge and backstab him, which can also be used on like every other normal enemy in the game.
Weakness: Poop.

Poop required ahead.

If only I had Poop.

Try jumping.Amazing chest ahead.

I actually killed him, combination of arrows and bombs. He ended up chasing me up to the Taurus demon bridge.

Even for a sl1 it isn't worth it. Killed hom with backstab only

Nah, I usually go through Darkroot at SL 20-25. Gotta get that grass crest shield!

Here's what I did. Barely peek your head in the door and back up quickly. Havel came to the door but did not come out, then he walked back about 10 feet. Each time I would barely enter the room and quickly leave, Havel would do that. He would never leave the room.

So, I just baited him each time to swing at me once then he would quit, and I could get 1 hit in before he would go back.

I'm not sure if I got lucky and he was in a glitch loop or if that's repeatable.
