Honestly then just don't buy it. The only thing the remaster is offering is a stable 60fps and active multiplayer, if that doesn't mean anything to you then PTDE is just as good - if not better since DSFix doesn't have the weird visual changes that make the remaster look iffy.

I got it because my friend wanted to finally pick up DS1, but it wasn't on the store. So I figured I might as well get the remaster so I can play with him. PtDE is probably going to sit and collect dust in my library now.

With DSfix you can get 60 FPS with a custimizable internal res. Which means you can turn the internal res to what you want, say 4K. Then you can downsample down to 1080.

Still far better then this remastered in terms of technical aspects.

I did play the stress test for DS1 remastered on PS4 and I pretty much got the same poopy onlien experience as the first lol.

You guys only have to pay 16-20$? In Europe it is about 40€ what means about 50-60 Dollars of worth. For us its like a full price game. I wouldnt say a word if I had to just pay 15€..

Dude, by the time this game was released, it wasn't as much popular as it got later on, dark souls 2 somehow managed to attract people's attention and dark souls 3 even more, there are tons of people, I'll include myself, that haven't played dark souls 1 and didn't want to because it seemed outdate, buggy, and empty, because you could barely find players, now, the REAL reason why people are paying is because it's gonna bring tons of people, which translates in TONS of activity (pvp, invasions etc) so if you're a solo player and dont do any pvp, then stay in your old ds

You can do that in the remaster too... Also, DSFix is just a quick hack at best which means that there are plenty of bugs with the physics for example, not to mention it struggles to reach even 40 fps in some areas on crazy expensive hardware because it doesn't fully use your PC's power (check Digital Foundry videos if you don't believe me) while the remaster does and runs like a dream without any bugs introduced, while also having native 21:9 support along with keyboard+mouse being recognised correctly. I'm not defending the price of the remaster but DSFix on top of the original base game is pure crap on a technical level while the remaster is really good on that aspect.

Not having to rely on a shoddy hack to "fix" the game is also very welcome.
