I can't beat the Capra Demon
it's been well over 10 attempts now but i am no where near giving up.
the fight is still bulls**t though because i go up the stairs and the dogs follow me (as they should), but then every time i go for a swing my sword hits the wall, and that's really f**king annoying.
the only way i can hit the dogs is if i position my self facing towards the wall, which usually makes me fall off and i get ganked by the dogs and the capra thot himself.
is there any way of hitting the dogs without the sword hitting that stupid wall? (i'm using the broadsword +4 btw)
Cheers

I mean I don't know if it's still in the game (why wouldn't it be?) but there was an exploit where you could throw firebombs over his fog door and kill him. Might be worth if it you can't be bothered to kill him.

I can help you, also the boss is really easy, just climb up the stairs to the right corner, kill the dogs and block with your shield, capra demon will fall and you can throw ♥♥♥♥ at him. Or just kill the dogs and block-attack him with a sideway moving.

The broadsword doesn't have a thrust for it's strong attack–which is sometimes an advantage, but not here. You could try a jumping attack (which does a downward lunge,) but it might be hard to pull off on the stairs and might not hit both dogs.

I liked using a the halberd on them since it skewered both of them in one go with the normal attack. You might equip it as your secondary main-hand. Even if you can't take them both out in one shot with it unlevelled, it recovers quickly, and you should be able to get two in quickly. Then switch back to your sword for the demon.

This may or may not help you but any boss in dark souls will be easy once you understand its mechanic but you cant learn its mechanic if youre panicking. I'm in no way dissing you. Just think about your next runs as "Im going to see what he does while attempting to stay a live" there's no rush in trying to do damage blindly. Take a deep breath, analyze the situation and always carry firebombs early game helps a lot. Stay strong.

This still works

I would stick with your current tactic, just have something equipped like a longsword with a thrust attack so you can hit the dogs without hitting the wall and then swap back to your main weapon. Once you get them down the fight is a lot easier.

Been a long time since i played but If i remember right after going up the stairs there is an arch you can get onto, thats the spot to be.

After taking the dogs out i usually do a drop attack on the capra demon and then dodge and roll my way back up there and repeat.

I remember having a hard time as well one of my first playthroughs using broadsword. Like others have said, a longsword is much better for taking out dogs. Typically, I lock on as soon as I get in, then switch to a dog and thrust as they approach, hopefully having enough time to dodge Capra's first attack. Especially since you're building a swordsman, you should be able to one shot both the dogs easily with a thrust.

if he is even slightly below the stairs while you are on it you can just walk off and do one of those sweet drop attacks, that should take away a good chunk of health
