The game has several puzzle dependencies that are not immediately obvious. If you find yourself stuck on one puzzle, try other things such as talking to the people in town. There are subtle clues in the dialogs that may not seem important, but end up related to a puzzle later on. Also items might not seem to be useful (there are several red herrings) but some items can be used in ways that are not obvious.
Hope this helps and wasn't too vague. Good luck!
Newspaper offices have a lot of OLD vintage posters on walls! :D
Explore carefully the area around one of the first locations that you saw in the game.
If the hint is too vague, it's the large area around the corpse.
