So far the game is ok,
The story element is not that interesting iv started skipping it after 9 chapters,
The gameplay is simple and straight forward so far,
Basicly it's:
First Pick 1 of 3 cages with only difference is a catchphrase like "in all her life of talking only loneliness listend"
Second is pick your characters each area holds up to 5,
They all start with 1 in the 4 basic stats with 5 being the highest,
you can buy more points in all of the stats whenever you like or they will get better as they use it
Third is you assign weapons/armor/speical equipment to your guys
Fourth you start the game and try to keep your anomalys happy by sending in your guys and telling them to do 1 of 4 styles to handle it.
They earn a currency depending on how well they go,
If things go badly they could go insane, die, activate the anomalys ability or release the anomaly.
Fifth use the currency earned to learn more about the anomalys and to buy gear created from them.
As time go's on different events happen that can really make life hard like self replicating clockwork golems.
You play chapters at a time if you finish a chapter you get a score this defines how many points you get for buying/upgrading units.
If you lose the game you keep everything youv unlocked, all items except those people were wielding on the last mission which are lost forever.
If a unit dies they are perma lost.
Any loss at all will very quickly spiral into chaos and death.
All up id say the games fine for what it is so far.
If the above does not sound interesting id say its not for you.
Not sure how to feel about it, tbh, although I am intrigued, especially given the hefty sale price.
The games is progressive and you can restart run while keeping some, the BEGGINING of the game isn't that hard once you get the gist of it.
I personnally bought the game only for the lore :
The two other games from Project Moon share the same universe and Every abnormality has it's own story it's crazy good for curious people
It was boring as hell. I refunded it.
... which I just wishlisted, because "Lobotomy Corp" is really brilliant, and I'd love more of that lore. And I'm still at the beginning, more or less (unlocked two more hubs only) and it's already driving me completely insane. I totally get the "agony to play it" thrill.
I mean, just trying to check notes about that big red button destroyed the interface, shattered my monitor and shut the game off, what the hell is that thing. Who the hell writes such games.
But it's a... f2p with in-app purchases ? :-/ That's one curveball I didn't expect...
Really? This reads like a "fishing for clown awards" kind of post, to be honest.
Of course you're not gonna see much of the game if you only played the first day or two. The game, like every game, is easing you into the gameplay loop and won't be throwing anything too surprising at you.
Then again...well, not to be intentionally rude, but if your attention span is that poor you're probably not cut out for the later game anyways. Better to be filtered out immediately than when the actual good stuff happens, I suppose.
Anyways, as for OP, this is by far the best actual review of the game: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eNnMGowoPjM
Obviously does spoil a little bit of the game, even outside the (thankfully) clearly marked spoiler section, but not enough to hamper your experience if you're on the fence and need info.
I do feel like I need to point out, since people very commonly miss it, is that this is a roguelite game and you are expected to restart your run from the very beginning at least once, and plenty of "week" restarts otherwise. Unless you're a god gamer, I suppose.
