Getting Army in Black

Army in Black is one of the two Abnormalities I have left to find. But a dozen Day 1 restarts later, I still haven't seen it. Does it only turn up after a certain day, or am I just really unlucky?

Partly bad luck, but also - each day has a certain chance of giving certain risks of abnormalities as options. I don't think you can get any ALEPH before at least day 11, and I also recall being told the first day with a chance at a normal ALEPH option is on day 18. Don't quote me on that one, though.
Central Command department in particular is notorious for offering ALEPHs, so if it's specifically that one you're after, it's viable to use Memory Repository back to day 21 a few times, since you get 2 abnormality options per day.

ZAYINs are just rare to get.

In the end, I got it on something like Day 13. I'm pretty sure there's some kind of limiter, because I tried the unlimited re-extraction mod, and it seems like it's literally impossible to get Army in Black during the first few days.

that's because Army in Black is an ALPEH. it's not ZAYIN. the game says it's ZAYIN but it has ALEPH information unlock prices and ALPEH gear.

BTW, how many departments did you have opened in order to get the abnormality? Guessing you have 4 departments opened.

that's because Army in Black is an ALPEH. it's not ZAYIN. the game says it's ZAYIN but it has ALEPH information unlock prices and ALPEH gear.

Unless it got an update it still counts as Zayin to unlock it though. From the game's wiki:
"(Technical Stuff) Because of its Risk ZAYIN class when in containment, it does not give the same amount of XP that an ALEPH would(Most likely a bug). It will also appear in the selection phase more often on earlier days as opposed to later days, like a RiskZAYIN class."

pretty sure that refers to it showing up earlier in the cycle for each department, so it's more likely to be one of the first abnormalities you get in a department, not that it'll show up in information or control.

Mhm, it needs at least 4 departments is its condition to show up, hence the question.
