In some situation, you would want to individually left click on your agent and right click them to move to X area. Handy in some of the later game events as you will not accidentally select more agents then you need, however it might be difficult if they are all close together.
in a lot of other situations, you can order the employee to work on an abnormality and then cancel the work. This is more for if you want a specific employee to leave a crowd of employees.
And the answer is no, if they are in the same room they will run closer until they are in range and start attacking, unless you want to move them to the other side of the abnormality in which case you just tell them to move to a room on the side you want them to move to then have them stay in the room. Also if you move them out of range of the monster's attack the monster will target someone in range which let's you move the original person back safely (unless the monster hits multiple/everyone or has a long range attack).
You sure you can't.
