Should I grind stats as much as possible?
Okay, so, this feels a bit weird. Obviously, the more jobs you complete, the more stats you gain at the end of the day. Technically, one could grind the first 5 people by just letting them visit the skull over and over and over again...but it feels really tedious.

On the other hand, when the Ordeals happen, it's good to have employees not pop like ripe grapes. is there some sweet spot?

The Mirror of Adjustment is the best tool to assist in Stat Farming.

Anyway, guessing you are new to stat farming in general, but I don't feel like talking about it. I will say One Sin and Hundreds of Good Deeds is one of the worst stat farming abnormalities along with the other ZAYINs(5 + One Sin) in the game. This is due to the fact that they heal the employee after completing the work, have low PE-box output, and/or deal low damage in general.

As for the Sweet spot, I don't think it exists. Stat farming is very tedious even with WAWs and ALEPHs, which statistically should give lots of EXP. You could say this is due to the fact that the higher the stat level the less EXP you get from working on lower Classes, but IDK. At least there is a permanent upgrade that increases every stat level to III, reducing the farming by half as much (max level is 6, represented as EX)

Uhm...could please explain how things that deal more damage are better for farming? I got Der Freischütz and Warm-Hearted Woodsman in my 2nd area ("information" i think) and the two have been boosting like crazy. Only issue is to get Justice to 3 on somebody before sending them to Freischütz I guess XD

You could check out my Guide, as it has all the statistical information. But if you want I can copy over all the tables and such, its not that big of a deal.

From my experience after the first playthrough, farming helps, yes. But don't overdo it.
If you've finished the daily goal and aren't sure you'll be able to beat the next ordeal without losses, just complete the day.

Another thing you should do as early as safely possible, is finishing the department missions. you can unlock some very interesting rewards here (like the recuitment with lvl 3 stats for 1 lob, like Grim Xzag already mentioned).

So, stat grinding can be thought of like a traditional RPG, in that, if you have the stats to comfortably clear higher level challenges, you should do so, since that will level you up faster. However it's theoretically possible to grind to max level at the very beginning of the game, but that's unnecessary (and obviously boring).
Do I have that right?

I'm also learning aboot like, "Ordeals" which sound like they might push you to complete a day faster, but they're not happening to me yet so...is it technically optimal to grind before I start having to deal with those since they'll make grinding more difficult later on? Just trying to understand.

Mhm, the stat grinding system is similar to a traditional RPG. The higher difficulty (in this game Risk Level) abnormalities, the more XP is given, however the lower difficulty abnormalities will give less XP the higher the employee's level is.

There is of course another factor to consider besides just working on difficult abnormalities, but you can get through most of the game just by knowing that higher agent levels get reduced XP from lower level abnormalities. And of course you can be far better then me last year knowing what all the factors/modifiers in order to efficiently farm stats.

Be careful with stats farming. As you may have noticed, certain abnormalities don't like it when you send in employees that have certain high or low stats like may have experienced with the Warm-hearted Woodsman.

There is like 5/74 abnormalities that have stat caps, also 4/5 have fair mechanics, with only 2/5 massively punish for not following the requirement. So one does not have to warn people about stat caps. Actually warning people about it will actual make the game harder as it will be in the front of their mind and deters from farming stats even if you say its a rare mechanic.

Spoiler warning 4/5 are HE class, meaning that one doesn't need high leveled employees to work on them anyway, and can simple hire a 2/2/2/1 employee to work on them without any issue. 1/5 is a TETH and is pretty trash TBH with a Temperance stat cap of level 1 max, making the works take forever since Temperance effects work speed.

Also this post was Necro-ed
