Aparrantly, his Apostles can one-shot an agent with their melee attack no matter their HP or resistances. Your only option is to evade. This means a hours-long hit-and-run as you try to dodge his apostles as they roam around, and try to get a few hits in before his guardian apostles (who deal PALE damage) get close enough to maim you.
Doesn't help he himself can do an facility-wide pale-damage attack that can finish off weakened agents (it used to just kill any weak agents instantly), which also revives any incapicitated apostles (yes, they don't die, they just "take a break", go on their knees, and wait for revival).
So, the only strategy available is probably having a group (or two) of agents around him and do a hours-long hit and run and hope not too many die or go insane.
Also, you'll want, no, NEED the various buffs and meltdown-protection from completing Core Supressions, or i believe various abnormalities will melt down due to WK's attack and try to escape if left untouched. He's litterally the last thing you want to be doing in the game, get everything else done first. You won't get another shot at it where you know who's gonna change into an apostle and can place them away or wherever you wish. Once he's transformed, he always remains WK, not Plague Doctor. If he's transformed already apostles get placed randomly, with a 85% chance of casualties since i heard they kill any agents standing on them as they spawn/transform.
I'd say cheese/cheap out the boss, but they nerfed everything that appeared to work in the past... Painting? Nope, they die instantly from melee strikes of apostles, eventually (it's a glitchy attack that doesn't always connect/kill properly). Even if there's only the painting employee and the apostle employee (who can't die, has the mask, etc), the painting employee still dies despite damage being transferred to the apostle.
WK doesn't seem to take much (if any at all) damage from abnormalities, so that's out of the question. Besides, his apostles will rince anything to pieces. Yes. Even Nothing There dies to WK's apostles. Eventually. Heck, they even took out Apocalypse Bird's egg, and probably would have no trouble taking out the other 2. WK also absorbs white damage, so don't EVER use white damage attacks or you'll HEAL HIM!
There's probably other details worth mentioning but my work break is about to end soon, so eh. Just cheap as ♥♥♥♥, i tried, but no matter the force or the amount of cheese i bring to him, he always kills everything. Bring the button, though. Since he disables restarting until every employee is dead/panicked. Also, you cannot pause or speed up the time when he's out.
Edit: And yeah, he drops a weapon. It's probably hidiously overpowered, too. But good luck GETTING it! Like i said, it takes korean levels of skill, and hours-long consecutive grinding, if i'm not mistaken. You should be able to google a wiki of this game, it also has alot of info, you'll need it if you hope to even get close to beating this morbidly OP piece of ♥♥♥♥. Haven't checked it in a while though...
so i would recommend 3 employees with 2 Paradise lost, 1 Twilight armor (so they can survive 1 or 2 apostle swing) with Red / Black Weapon and an hour of kiting.
It's not impossible but super tidious.
Tip:
1.Hit WhiteNight and don't bother with apostles, kiting them isn't hard.
2.You can use other aleph-geared employees but most of them are just gonna be fodder eventually (yes, even justitia get 1 shotted) and also make your kiting harder.
Though i bet the non-pale apostles still do enough damage to kill the painting-protected employee...
Can't say i'm even remotely interested in 1-3 hours of moving around employees without the ability to pause. So if this actually works... (Still not sure what would be the strongest/fastest-damaging solo-weapon to use on WK though, they all just kinda gently tickle his health bar, at best.)
And once he's transformed (even mid-game) he remains White Knight, permanently (even after retrying, unless you want to go as far
as to delete/reset your save file or replace it with a older one if that works too). So you only get one shot at it with predetermined Apostles, if i'm not mistaken. Not sure if the previously-blessed employees will always be picked as Apostles or it'll be random from thereon once transformed.
But besides WK/the Apostles i'm sure you'll recover agents/equipment on retry just fine.
And in the extremely likely event you've failed at containing it with violence and he's transformed, make sure you got someone with exceptional pale resistance and 130+ Temperance if you decide to keep him now or in a later run to fight later-on, for he escapes if not worked for a while, with an active real-time timer. Not a turn/work/meltdown-based one.
Keep an eye on him every now and then, and maybe speed up your work/meltdown pace so you don't have to work on him so often with a overload in effect (the -??%'s you get from working on WAW/ALEPH's too often before meltdowns). It'll save you alot of trouble for future attempts, you really need everything in your favor to reliably prevent him from escaping. He's a real pain. Worse then Queen of Hatred...
The Apostles are easy to kite because of their AI working similar to Geburah. Always targeting the closest employees. These tiny little things makes it easy to move them away from the squad attacking WhiteNight.
The problem is if they are killed and WhiteNight resurrects them. If an Apostles is killed and they are revived they will move to a different part of the room making it harder. Due to you kiting, you might kill one of the Apostles but this could also be unlikely if you are stalling really good.
The other problem will come when a second type of Apostle enters the room like the wand or spear. These 2 will force you to move your crew of employees out of the area. If a another Scythe Apostle enters the main room where WhiteNight is, you will be most likely fine as long as they don't grab an employee.
They had said they removed the Qliphoth Meltdown patterns in the Update logs but if you are going to challenge the boss you will definitely need the Geburah Core Suppression upgrade, to increase the amount of weapons in your arsenal. Pale Shield is also very important with those guarding apostles doing Pale damage to the employees. You should have all the meltdown areas covered by this point to fight to boss.
*I will edit this later*
1) Have you gotten all the Sephirah upgrades? If not: Don't do it.
2) Do you have the most powerful aleph equipment (2 paradise lost, twilight, 3 censored)? If not: Don't do it
3) Is your facility free of other abnormalities that might breach out, such as Big Bird or Queen of Hatred? This takes into account the fact that you've beaten the bosses for meltdown immunity in order to minimize chaos. If not: Don't do it.
4) Do you have enough employees(35) to survive the wipe of the 12? If not: Don't do it.
5) Have you properly equipped your employees to fight White Night? The damage dealers should sport the most powerful red/black damage weapons available. Don't even think about brigning white weaponry nearby. Tanks should have Paradise Lost on them. If not: Don't do it.
6) Do you have impeccable timing and great micromanagement skills? Toying with the apostles is one thing, having to deal with the facility-wide AoE from WN is another entirely. If not: Don't do it.
If you have reached the end of this rather short and easy flow chart, then congratulations; you're ready to face [THE LORD]. Keep in mind that battling him is bound to take you from half an hour to anywhere else.
Cheers. And btw, Paradise Lost B is poweful, but not that overpowered.
Yes, you just need Whitenight in your facility for 0.2 R/W/B/P but negation of <5 damage work regardless of Presence of Whitenight.
