So, jump scares?
Is this game pretty big on jump scares? I hate them with a passion.

Thanks!

Hate them too. Hm, not sure if it has any of them left though. Heard the Wall Gazer had one but they kinda nerfed it to just a scream with a screen distortion, or so i heard? Who knows how high it ranks up there compared to actual jumpscares, didn't dare check... :P

Only other one i could think of that acts similarly to the above now is Schadefreude (keyhole machine thing), if provoked by watching it as it's breached/actively worked on, maybe? Not sure.
You'd have to ask someone who's studied them a bit more in-depth. But i can say all the other ones are all fine, no jump scares on those.

Edit: So, if uncertain, you could do what i did, avoid picking them. Though that may be a slightly difficult process since you don't get to see their names until you've researched them, the only hints at that point is in their vague discriptions.

There are some, but not very jumpy, they are moslty "Crap just hit the fan, got to deal with it" moments, or "We're gonna die, let's enjoy the show", or just "Something weird is happening, it's probably bad".
Other than old Wall Gaser, I can't think of one that made me want to puch monitor first, ask questions later.
As for Keyhole, it doesn't jumscare at all. Just easy to provoke, hard to suppress. Unless you know the trick, it will chop your agents into kibbles.

Matter like tension, ambience, screen shenanigans as well as weird sounds i can deal with no problem, and in fact, i would expect them to be there given what the game seems to offer.

But jump scares can go die in a fire.

There really isn't a focus on jumpscares or scarying the player in general.

As mentioned there is one abnormality that when handled poorly will scream and distort the screen but it isn't loud or tries to be scary.

Chances are you jumped more from that distortion you got from watching that one poorly recorded clip on a smartphone the other day.

The motto is "face the fear, build the future". But facing your fear is more about sending your favourite employee to handle a new abnormality and having them killed or the entire facility falling into chaos.

There is only one jumpscare in the game
But lobotomy corp isn't an horror game
It's a psychological horror, with the stories and all that, it's more going to freak you out like crazy than make you jump out of your seat
But, for the gameplay, I'd call it a stress game, you're not scared, it's just that your heart is beating 300 times a minute due to all the things you have to take care of in a matter of seconds
Thankfully, the game gives you an incredible tool, which would sound op, but here, it's the least you can ask for: the ability to stop time
Be cautious though, some of these monsters will actually mess with your game settings and mechanics

If you want to know about the jumpscare, I'll spoil it here:
Most likely early in the game, a teth abnormality (second lowest level in the game) with the appearance of a naked woman facing a wall, whose face cannot be seen, with black hair and the ability to stretch her neck has the ability of screaming and distording your screen when she's in a bad mood, but, if she's being worked on and your camera (screen) is zoomed in on her, the same jumpscare will happen but a really disgusting face will appear

Huh, they left it in after all then? Guess the way to trigger it is too obscure for them to bother updating it in the wiki and such? Well, that's useful to know... :P

You're describing old Wall Gazer. I hadn't seen that face since 0.1.0.0. She does not react when you look at her, anymore. And doesn't show her pertty face.

Thank you for this, I was stuck at the same mission. It's ridiculous to want to have 2 promotions at the same time so late in the game. Especially since there's no way to know how much XP anyone is getting.

Either make it X promotions across all days, or make it 1 promotion, like the later quest is.

I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm fine with not seeing the XP, but they tied a mission to it.
