express train is misclassified
In my opinion Express train should be classified as risk level aleph, I haven't ♥♥♥♥♥♥ to this risk level and I only want opinions of this particular abnormality. I find this train, can wipe out 2 whole departments just by running down the center and i hate that!

That train is just incredibly rude. Sooner or later, you will forget about it, but IT won't forget about YOU.

It's like it's saying: "I see you're having a good time, let's change that."

That's in my opinion the big challenge of this game. It starts simple. You get a few anomalies, they have their quirks, but once you know them it's manageable. But then you get a bunch of them, and you have to remember the quirks of every single one, and work them in a way that doesn't make them angry due to each others' necessities. Things such as: "I need to keep the bird and the old lady worked on permanently while I do other stuff, I can't make people who worked on the armor work on anything else, I need to do the same with anyone working for Laetitia or the fairies, I need to keep people between certain stat ranges to work on some anomalies just in case they are hit by a meltdown(and they will), I need to hit the train booth every 2 minutes, I need to look at one anomaly when working on it all while NOT looking at an other while it's worked on(cue wonky camera angles). Oh god a trumpet. What did I forget? WHAT DID I FORGET?!"

It's a juggling act, and sometimes, you can do just fine with your knowledge and skills. And sometimes, you will have to juggle with a chainsaw, a cactus, a bowling bowl and a rabid koala. One of them will be on fire, and you won't know which one until it hits your hand at which point you will of course take everything on the head.

In a way it reminds me of a card game called Elixir. As the game progress, others players action may force you to start every sentence with Ayyyy, caramba, scratch your head while you're talking, stand up and sit down every time someone gets a turn, and end every sentence with so I've spoken. You will always end up forgetting one of those things at some point, and get penalised for it.

The train is just one of those things. It follows its mechanical pattern. You can't negociate with it. It will ignore your swearwords as it plows through everything you built. And the worst part is when all is said and done, you can only blame yourself.

There is an inscription on the back of the train, you know. It reads "memento mori".

Train and Idol were my only saviours during early WhiteNight.
The old lady can be safely ignored. If you have some boss bonuses and she's in a no meltdown zone.

Otherwise, she's a constant annoyance as failing to keep her happy means you will have to send someone in the black mist once she gets to 0. Granted, it doesn't do much to an employee with good gear and stats, but without that, it can panic an employee. Basically it all add an extra level of annoyance where a more straightforward anomaly would be more manageable.

Also, when you send someone in the mist, you don't produce energy and waste a time slot.

Now it's no longer really a problem, but my first game with it, I had almost nothing to my name. It's easy to forget how the game is when you don't have multiple sephirah bonuses. Her and the punishing bird forcing me to both always keep them worked on was annoying. I hate the bird more, but due to that, she's up there.
There are exactly 2 abnormalities which are straight up MemRepo for me, and they are Parasyte Tree and Express Train.

I may not like Alriune's "you just worked me, guess I'm breaching lol" mechanic, but you can thread the needle and she's annoying but suppressable. Silent Orchestra has a slightly better position in that it has good gear and a gift that allows flat immunity to White damage, if being more annoying to suppress.

I may not like the Annoying Stat Check HEs (and TETH), but at least two of them will flat out just do nothing if their Qliphoth counter reaches zero (although I absolutely hated having Singing Machine and Woodsman when dealing with Binah) and the others are easily suppressable, and in the case of Butterflies, actually useful at training new employees on Insight and Justice. To an extent Singing Machine can also be used for training... Meat Lantern can flat out go die in a fire though.

I may not like Nameless Fetus' heavy breathing and dear god that scream is infuriating, but the gift is... vaguely reasonable, and 99% of the time in lategame you will be getting a Good result anyway unless you super screw up.

I may not like the Breach-On-Death squad but most of the time they are relatively manageable, particularly if you take Execution Bullets. The gift from Army makes the EGO weapon hit like a truck. QoH is a bit of a pain to juggle, but in the end you can get into the rhythm of dealing with her across meltdowns without her breaching every time.

I may not like Attention Seeking Fetus, but at least he gives a considerable amount of upside to compensate the upkeep he requires. The bonuses that are gained by his gear as a result are certainly worthwhile and enough to warrant keeping him in the facility.

I may not like the amount of juggling needed with Melting Love, Little Prince, Burrowing Heaven and Schadenfreude but they are still reasonably good abnormalities that will not ♥♥♥♥ you over when you know how to deal with them.

Express Train and Parasyte Tree, however, earned a special place on my Abnormality ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ when I had to keep juggling them when trying to get the ABird event to activate by having JBird and PBird breached at the same time. The first time around I ended up with a train ploughing through my Central Command and a nice little bonsai collection down in Records whilst I was trying to make an omelette and juggle meltdowns. In the end, if you have other stuff that is urgent they will find a way to screw you over. There is absolutely nothing that will convince me that keeping either of them in my facility is worthwhile, not even cute elf ears.

I'm really not looking forward to taking the train to get its observation level maxed... I'm also not looking forward to have to deal with the fetus as I absolutely hate hearing baby crying noises, and its mechanic seems absolutely infuriating. I'm also not looking forward to the tree either.
Now I've FINALLY ♥♥♥♥♥♥ execution bullets, though, it has changed my life in dealing with some anomalies. I had Melting Love sitting pretty and me not working on it for a few days after I was absolutely powerless to avoid stupid clerks walking to my infected employee, proceeding to go back to main control room, and causing the death of everyone here.

Now I'm off to suppressing ALEPHs in the same day, beating a midnight ordeal and doing timed missions soon... Oh boy...

All I can advise with Train is to just flat memrepo it as soon as you're done.
If it has one saving grace, it's that it's very easy to memrepo, unlike We Can Change Anything.
Execution bullets are 100% a godsend, and while you do get departmental benefits for keeping clerks alive, in comparison to dealing with Melting Love's ridiculousness there really isn't any comparison.
Lobotomy Corps, where the ability to coldly murder your employees on the spot is such a good ability it's gated behind mid game missions.
Train was annoying to get a hang of (and still can be), but if you keep your finger on the pulse, it can be a great way to heal up your entire base at once, or keep a worker with low hp/sanity alive while they're actively inside a holding cell. Though, I definitely wish there was an option to buy a chair and set it right outside the door.

"You sit here and every minute and a half, you go in and get a ticket. Simple."
(Failing that, I just trained up someone to max Justice for a fast movement speed and have them constantly sitting in the hallway)

I confess it probably says a great deal about me as a player that I could only ever manage Train when I had access to the pause function... trying to time was an impossibility for me otherwise.

Lol, what I meant was that if the train existed IRL as it did in-game, it would be nowhere near as dangerous. There's no way a CEO would drop what they're doing to call up a subordinate to tell them "Hey, go get a ticket now." every two minutes (too much room for error, and CEO has better things to do). They would either hire someone to do NOTHING but watch those lights and grab a ticket every time four were lit, or automate the process somehow.

Ever since I got the train anomaly, I've pretty much ♥♥♥♥♥♥ into the habit of pausing the game every few seconds to check on it. Very rarely will I count it down in my head.

Hokma and Binah say hi. :c
Also I wish I could just instruct someone to go in every 30s or something. Alas.

Yeah, you think that a train is a big threat until your just a newbie, picking some abnormalities. "Ooh magical girl sounds nice". Ooh army in pink seems like a swell fellow, I'm sure these two will work really well in tandem". then 2 minutes later the following might unfurl...

Case a, nobody has died yet: OH GOD SHE'S KILLING EVERYONE.
Case b, you use der freishutz to satisfy the needs of "magical girl" and accidentally kill 2 people too many: OH GOD HE'S KILLING EVERYONE.
Case c, Spend the rest of the game careful treading the line between killing at least 3 people but not as many as 5 and hope that you can keep this up while managing to- OH GOD EVERYONE IS DYING.

Execution bullets + Clerks. Magical Girl is happy. Army in black my solution was usually ♥♥♥♥ starting the scarecrow, since he's a fairly easy fight. At 97% dissolution rate, I've asofar found the Parasyte tree, The Train, and Meat Flower to be the -most- annoying to contend with. If only because the Meat flower is a douche, and parasyte tree and train don't get along, and interact rather poorly.

At least train is -really- easy to get the Information for. You can just spam click it to fill out it's stuff, and then yeet outta there.

Plus at least you can juggle Magical Girl on meltdowns if you absolutely have to.
The tree and the train on the other hand are just straight up arseholes that mess with you whenever you really need to be focusing on other stuff. Even Breach on Death stuff isn't so bad in comparison...
You can just click with mouse on employees to stop Tree from doing its thing. It will try to get someone only if you work on other abnormalities and not timer based, and it will be glowing and blinking before doing it. So it is super easy.

The problem is that if you are dealing with Day 49 or either Atziluth Sephirah, it turns from 'minor nuisance which I have to occasionally pay attention to' into 'major issue', given that you have many other things which need paying attention to. The last thing you want is a phase 3 where the tree just MC'd one of the agents you needed to work an abnormality in meltdown...
That being said I suspect it was mainly the train that was the issue more than the tree. But I still would rather not have either in my facility during endgame.

In that regard the Prince is MUCH worse than the Tree. Also the bane of Day 49 is the Burrowing Heavens <_<
