Lobotomy Corporation

Lobotomy Corporation

So, anybody even get the ending of the game?
We all know that Lobotomy Corp. is hard as hell. I tried beat 46th day, but always lose majority of my crew by White Noon or Twilight. From Core Supressions I completed all top departments and Tiphered one. Yeah, I know that this is not enough for last days cause of very high difficulty. I restarted the game from day 1, got WhiteNight on 12-14 days (dont remember) and tried to beat him a couple of hours. Actually I got some progress. With only 2 employees with ALETH equipment I damaged 10% of HP WhiteNight and with more attempts this damage is increasing. But its hell of frustrating and I ready just to drop the game.

So question from the topic. Anybody finished the game?

I guess i did...? Even went as far as to get 100% abnormality dissolution/information/whatever (you can check the % in the abnormality codex in the main menu) to get the true ending cutscene.

Well, if it helps i probably have some tips...
-The White Midnight is pretty tough, but there's a trick to it, you can avoid it's special attack by A: assigning everyone who's marked to work on something, so they'll be safe within the abnormality containers, and executing any marked clerks or B: never allow The Claw to initiate this attack by getting it's HP low enough (about 26-30%? as it triggers at or below 25%), waiting for it to do a attack it can be stunned in such as it's regen or it's teleport attack, and bring down EVERYONE onto it to stun it with overwhelming damage, killing it before it gets up and does it's special attack. Most people prefer method B, but i kinda like method A myself. Just a matter of placing every non-combatant employee as close as possible to a containment unit.
Prevention or cheesing it is the only viable strategy. That attack is a instant kill which'll kill ANY employee it targets with tons of pale damage, pale shields don't even help.

-White Night is just a pain in the ass and probably not worth trying. I mean, he's about the only thing harder then the dreaded Day 49 or any core supression or other boss. He's litterally the hardest thing in the game to beat the hard way (instead of One Sin-ing him to death). Probably not worth trying if other things seem near-impossible to you already. You're better off trying something like Apocalypse Bird for that one's gear (probably after doing all core supressions fist).

-If you're trying to beat all the final days i'd advice picking abnormalities that are easy to manage and you can just "fire and forget" when it comes to working on them, even better if they have no notable repercussions for failing to prevent a meltdown. You'll want to avoid abnormalities that have devastating effects (most ALEPH's when breaching), require exessive micromanagement (a certain DLC tree, most DLC's actually, since they're harder then regular abnormalities, "stop using" timing-based type tool abnormalities, the godamn train, etc), and avoid White Night as he whines for attention and breaches in real-time if ignored (and him breaching is a instant-restart, of course).
(If you're wondering what i mean by "DLC" abnormality, it's the community-inspired/made ones the devs added. They've got round containers in the selection screen, instead of typical square ones.)

-Some good ones to pick when trying to beat the game would be Yang/Yin, which will take up a tool slot which helps you avoid having to pick the train or other terrible tools. The uh, button, is also kind good for that, as it will NEVER have a meltdown (just don't ever press it). We Can Change Anything is also not bad as a tool pick, since that is also meltdown-immune.

-Edit: Oh, another piece of advice. Day 49 is Pure. Hell. Doesn't matter how many people you lose trying to beat it. Just beat it, even if you only have one employee left. You'll see why. Same kinda goes for hard core supressions, they stay beaten, so don't be shy about having some employees die if you'll load up a memory repository (checkpoint), only thing you may lose this way is gear, if you cannot recreate that lost gear.

Yes, I finished the game with WhiteNight present in my facility as well as the various Birds, two Blue Star and Nothing There, and managed to 100% my Codex to reach the epilogue. I would also like to add that I am crap at dealing with stressful situations, don't deal well with that kind of thing and am the last person to be considered 'pro gamer'. So it's certainly possible.

With regards to the first three Ordeals of White (Dawn through to Dusk), you are advised to gather kill squads. Whilst White and Black Fixers have the most aggravating abilities, it's best to have four kill squads and engage all fixers present at once, since if left alone they will trigger their special abilities which I'm guessing you've seen. Red Fixer isn't so bad, but Pale Fixer will 'nothing personnel' to agents elsewhere in your facility if you leave him too long, Black Fixer releases all Abnormalities in the department, and White Fixer has her massive 2/3 white damage arc, which can cover half your facility depending on the position. Make judicious use of shields and the pause button. Keep an eye on White Fixer so your agents don't accidentally sudoku themselves, and Pale Fixer since he can chunk agents down very quickly.

With regards to the Midnight of White, your best option is to let the Rabbits deal with it and vacate your agents from the premises. It will be stunned after taking enough damage, which the Rabbits are good at. At low HP, he will mark employees (both agents and clerks) and prepare to start dashing to them, dealing enough Pale damage to murder almost anything in his path. In order to avoid this, you should use Execution Bullets on any marked clerks. Marked agents can be sent into containment chambers (whether tool or workable) in order to lose their mark.

If you haven't completed the other Briah and Atziluth CS I would advise you do those before continuing to day 46 again. You'll be unable to reach the true ending if you have not completed all other CS by this time. In addition, completing Gebura and Binah in particular will give you a considerable advantage when it comes to everything else due to the rewards that they both give, which makes it that much easier to beat WhiteNight.

If you want to cheese WhiteNight, it's possible to do so by either a) having him breach into the Information Team with a Green Midnight present, or b) having the Express Train run him over several times. This counts as suppression, even though it wasn't your agents that were responsible for the kill.

If you don't feel like cheesing, though, then I would strongly suggest sticking the Paradise Lost armor on someone with Mimicry gift and weapon. That way, as long as that agent is micro'd to dodge the instakill attacks, the healing from Mimicry should be able to keep them reasonably healthy without too many bullets. I started off just dogpiling WN and had a couple guys finish him off at the end.

With regards to the last few days, I would advise setting up your facility in advance to be as easy to deal with as possible. Basically not picking too much annoying Breach-on-Death or high maintenance stuff. I went to the trouble of getting every single available equipment from every abnormality so that nobody was using equipment below WAW-class, but equally, that depends on your SAN stat as the manager. However, there is a tool-type abnormality I would strongly advise you get for your day 49 attempt: D-09-104. If you see this one, it will make the day go much smoother, since it can clear all meltdowns once per day if used properly.

If you complete Day 50 without 100% codex, don't worry. When you fully complete your codex, the Epilogue will become available, so you won't need to do day 49 all over again to see it.

No problem!
Just remember that day 49 isn't going to go without losses, and it's best to accept them if you complete the day. I managed with just 4 deaths somehow, despite one of the RNG checks hitting the worst possible result, but even if you get an F-rank and only one agent survives, it's still possible to complete day 50.

Yea, I did it! Definitely not doing it again! Probably!

I beat Day 46-49 on my second run, assigned 3 level V employees per department with WAW and ALEPH gear. The Claw was annoying to deal with his insta-kill attack, so i followed the same advice mentioned before about sending agents into containment units.

Day 49 was the real challenge, I use Rabbits to lock down Binah in Extraction, pause even if I lose a few guys, take care of the first meltdowns, when on phase two, I use a pre-charged Backwords Clock with a throwaway lvl V. Then on third phase I pause and use agents again, then pray the Rabbits aren't dead by this point so they can finish her off.

I'll confess, first run stopped at day 46 simply because White Midnight's cheap shenanigans. Dropped the game for a few months, doing the second run in dribs and drabs. Second run was spent researching the abnormalities I missed and cracking down on Binah's meltdown, White Night and Apocalypse Bird.

Beat the game on my third run. Yeah, coming to the final week with a maximum roster of nearly fully trained staff strapped to the teeth in the best gear, with the least intrusive abnormalities (barring Meat Lantern, alas had no good choices that time) can really make things easier.

Frustratingly I still got cheesed on day 46 because 8 employees glitched out when they were put to sleep and "woke up".

Day 49, I had to give up the "no deaths" code I tried to stick by. You're just not getting through that day without severe losses.

Strategies followed were similar to the ones mentioned already, but for day 46 I'd generally focus on each of the fixers one by one (except the black one who inevitably gets dogpiled by the local team) and migrate entire departments if white/red were nearby.

Only recommendation so far I would advise AGAINST is grabbing Yang/Yin. In my experience, Yin is temperamental and if you forget about Yang, well, you may as well have the Express Train to Hell.

Was frustrated to hell with the game, but felt good to finally complete it. Admittedly the frustration has left me tired of the management side of things, which makes me glad Library of Ruina looks to be different.

I couldn't actually use Rabbits on Binah, she didn't count as a suppressable entity (same with day 48 Gebura) and because it was Kether's CS there were also meltdowns summoned on Extraction as well. Unless I'm missing something?

Oh wait, actually now that I'm thinking about it, I believe I selected a few powerful ALEPH agents from a few departments (including one with Twilight EGO) to deal with Binah, not the Rabbits. I put two agents in Extraction to deal with meltdowns while dodging any of her attacks.
Also, I could still use Rabbits on Day 49 Binah, not sure about Gebura, cause i think I handled her without them.
