What does Hard Mode entail?
Hi. I'm thinking of buying this game, but first I'd like to know what kind of difficulty that is, because I don't want to get stuck trying excessively frustrating achievements.

For example, if it's a mode where if you die once anywhere you need to start from the very beginning of the game, I'm out. But if it's a "harder obstacles, tighter timings" kind of thing, I'm all in.

Thanks.

Yea so the hard mode definitely "physically" removes checkpoints from a level. But I'd have to actually complete a level like that to be able to tell you for sure whether finishing a level is a "checkpoint". It probably is.
The levels are still pretty huge though.

yes, after beating the level your progress will be saved :)

I vaguely remember that it's an "I'm out" type of deal.
The game is frustrating enough as is.
But why not try anyway

I'm the kind to really stick with whatever I start, so I like having a decent amount of info beforehand. I really like platformers that are hard design-wise, but I'm not into the "send you all the way back if you die" kind of deal. Plus due to my current amount of free time I wouldn't be able to commit to that kind of grind.

The game's description says the following:
There's even a hard mode for hardcore players. Can you beat each level without dying?
Does this mean you need to beat the whole thing in one go, or do you get a checkpoint every time you finish a full level? If the latter, that's fair enough for me.

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
