Aftershock STILL not out on GOG
Been 5 days now since Aftershock released and still only says "coming soon" on GOG. When is it going to release? If GOG has different release standards shouldn't you have already been aware of that considering the game itself was previously released to GOG? What is taking so long?

it's not GOG's fault, I haven't even tried to do a build for GOG yet

we can't really be patching things every day with GOG and I wanted to make sure some extra stuff that needed to be finished in the game was actually right before sending it over

I'm really getting tired of 3D realms excuses, other companies are able to have their games release at the same time as steam even indie devs, why can't they?

Because this is nu3DRealms run by a team from Denmark.

While I agree it's a shame it isn't out over there yet, you're asking why Aftershock isn't out on GOG on a competing platform. It would make more sense asking over on GOG itself. The GOG people know more about GOG than Steam does. :pcircle:

GOG's staff is much smaller, so you may or may not even get an answer. Their review process is also different. Aftershock is receiving updates as well, so if Voidpoint is also submitting those, it may delay the launch.

It sucks, but it's not on Voidpoint, entirely on the storefront.

Ion Fury getting updates much later on GOG compared to Steam has been a real problem for a while now. If I recall correctly, the 2.0 patch was delayed for over a month because the devs' computers weren't compatible with the GOG Galaxy backend or something, so they couldn't publish the new build themselves. They instead sent the new build to GOG staff so they could manually do QA and publish it, which took a lot longer.

So it's really a two-fold problem: Voidpoint probably haven't bothered implementing a publishing process that works with GOG Galaxy, and GOG staff still work as slowly and sloppily as ever.

One, the game released this week on steam so it stands to reason that it will come out on gog in the same week

Two, i asked the devs in the 3d realms discord

I hope the game will be on GOG on Monday or by Wednesday, im getting tired of the excuse that GOG handles differently when every other game company releases their products on both Steam and Gog at the same time.

I don't see you complaining about an Epic Games release.

Or what, you won't buy it?
Throw a tantrum?

Complaining doesn't make them release the game any faster.

True, i just wish they would get their act together.

It was felt players would rather have a more polished release on GOG, then run into possible issues or softlocks that would take multiple days to address.

Steam allows for quicker updates, able to do them same day. GOG takes longer to get updates in.
