It took me 3.5 hours to finish Aftershock

I didn't see a discussion on the main page so I thought I'd put this up for those who were wondering how long it is. I also got about 40% secrets and 90% kills and played on standard difficulty.

For perspective, it took me 5.5 hours to beat the main game.

Wow that's impressive to me, the original game took me like 15 hours to beat. Granted I did a fair amount of secret hunting but still. Im probably halfway through aftershock after about 4 hours so far.
Edit, I was wrong I was nearly finished with aftershock, so it took me about 5.5 hours.

How the hell did you beat the main game that quickly? It felt HUGE to me. I'm not judging (even if it sounds like it), but do you just rush through these games at breakneck speed? One of my favorite things about these games is carefully exploring the levels. The first level in Aftershock alone took me like 40 minutes. Also, how many levels does Aftershock have?

Aftershock has 15 levels, compared to 28 in the base game.

Not every game needs to be 20 hours long. 3.5hrs is perfect. Can replay it multiple times on different difficulties this way and not get bored with a long playthrough.

The base game was always around 8-9 hours for me.

First time I played a build of Aftershock, finished it in a little over 5 hours.

I wouldn't say I rushed, but I've beaten most of the 'new' boomer shooters (e.g. Dusk, Amid Evil) along with Doom, Duke Nukem 3D, Blood etc. so I figure I'm just used to them at this point... Which does make me slightly biased.

Check inside the game in the main menu new game -> user content -> maps -> dlc

All those years of waiting for the expansion just to finish in 3.5 hours? I dunno man, you should have taken your time, explored as much as possible, soaked in the atmosphere & music. I'm only on level 3 and have been playing for hours. Level 2's music is fantastic.

That's the thing, I thought I was taking it all in lol. I do tend to do most of the exploration (secrets), achievements etc. after I beat the main game when it comes to games like this.
